My Own Saviour, I Do. (24 Hour Timelapse)

The experience was designed as a Shabbat ritual (the Jewish day of rest) to 'beautify a commandment' by filling 24 hours of space and challenge viewers' concept of time. Leyla performed an acapella folk song, then ushered participants into the screening room, where they were free to remain for all or some of the film's duration. This is a timelapse of the installation: a journey through neural pathways, heavily influenced by the study of time, Kabbalistic concepts, and the Thoth Tarot.
